Karangasem is located southeast of Bali, with the capital Amlapura.
Amlapura is compared to other holiday resorts (Kuta, Sanur) remained a bit behind. They are now doing a lot to catch up and they are doing a great job. The beaches of Candi Dasa is at the moment completely renovated, which provides you with white sandy beaches where you can enjoy the sun.
You can also continue to Amed Tulamben and, of course not forget to visit the palace when you pass the royal palace Tirta Ganga water. If you are interested you may also swim here in the very clear mountain water of the swimming pool.
Amed and Tulamben are currently very popular. This is because of the many hotels that have been built in the recent past. You can go diving off the coast of Tulamben where there is still a VOC ship, where you can go wreck diving, snorkeling is also very worthwhile, and Amed Tulamben characterized by a black sand beach.
On your way from Amed to Amlapura you will pass the water palace of Ujung. This palace is from the royal family of King Tirta Ganga. The family of the king have given this palace to the city of Amlapura. After the city has renovated the palace it is now open to the public.
